Thanks to you! Giving Tuesday 2018 was a success!

Due to your generosity, MYAC exceeded our goal with a grand total of donations of $14,945! Because of this support, we can continue to foster the growth and development of children and teens by building a home with the power of music.

A special thank you to Clucker's Charcoal Chicken. Clucker's Charcoal Chicken in Highwood & Libertyville generously donated 15% of all of yesterday's sales to MYAC.

A Letter from Dr. D: "Warm Up the Ensembles, Maestro!"

Eighteen years ago, we converted the former Fort Sheridan Army Stockade into a state-of-the-art rehearsal space. Maintaining a 128-year-old home is a labor of love full of unexpected surprises. In 2013, we ran a successful "Heat the Fort" campaign to replace one of our old boilers. In late-October, our second boiler went out for good, and our third and final boiler is on its last leg.

We're now faced with the prospect of caring for hundreds of students and instruments as winter approaches without central heat. At MYAC, we pride ourselves on building a home with the power of music. As 2018 comes to a close, please help the 900+ kids who call MYAC home stay warm through the winter!

We have been advised that it will cost $13,000 to replace one boiler. In honor of our 26th seasonour year-end goal is to raise $26,000 to cover the cost of replacing both old boilers, in order to ensure that our facility will have no heating issues for years to come. We're thrilled to partner with an extremely generous anonymous donor who will match every donation dollar for dollar up to $13,000!

We're kicking off our "Warm up the Ensembles" campaign on #GivingTuesday, a global movement for giving back. As #GivingTuesday approaches, connect with us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram for stories from our students, updates on our pursuit of our goal, and of course, the beautiful music made here every week!

Mark your calendars! #GivingTuesday is Tuesday, November 27th, 2018. Help us warm up the ensembles, Maestro! With your help, we can continue building a warm home with the power of music to enrich the lives of our students and their community.
